master cylinder bonnet clearance

Hi All,
HELP!!!
I have just done a trial fit of the body and the bonnet will not sit flat in the opening.
The cap on the sierra master cylinder is hitting the under side of the bonnet(the double skinned part). It seems like the servo is to far out from the bulkhead or the cylinder is to high
Anyone got any thoughts please!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers
Steve

Re: master cylinder bonnet clearance

Top of the master cylinder cap is about 25mm below the ledge in the main tub where the bonnet sits.
The inside skin of the bonnet has a local depression which increases clearance to the cap.
Silly question but I take it the master cylinder has been fitted in the brake hole and not the clutch?

Re: master cylinder bonnet clearance

Hi Steve

As above, there should be no probs whatsoever with the height of the servo etc.
I have enclosed (I think!!) a pic of mine at chassis syage with the servo and mastrer cylinder shown.

Hope this helps.

Phil

Re: master cylinder bonnet clearance

Hi

Thanks for the reply
having looked at the pics and compared them to mine it looks like my servo is deeper bringing the fluid reservoir further away from the bulkhead and the reservoir is a different shape,a more square shape.
Sierra was 2ltr lx 1991
Cheers
Steve
