Sumo front caster

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to know if any one has experienced the same problem as myself. I'm currently running a Chevy 350 in my Granada based Sumo Mk3. The problem I'm encountering is very light steering at motoway speeds, which as you all know feels unsafe over any rough roads or bumps. The set up has been done by a very good company called Northhamton Motor Sport which has made a massive difference to my Sumo but still is far to light. The answer I've been told is to have more caster, but as we have gone to the maximum that the Sumo can extend to (which is not much) the answer seems to point at some modification on the lower wish bone etc. So cut along story short has any one encountered the same and did you over come this problem?
Many thanks.

Re: Sumo front caster

You may find it easier to adjust/ trim the top wishbone pivot tube attached to the chassis and pack the wishbone as required, we are only talking mm here. That will allow castor change without too much effort even when setting up.

Not the only option I know but easiest me thinks

Re: Sumo front caster

William

resolved my caster problems this way, only a smidge taken off the drivers side, both sides are now spot on.

Bump steer, have a look at the link below, not too complicated and I am sure it can be resolved, just time and effort. I can't imagine the Sumo front end having all those angles lined up, good winter project
