Re: windscreen

I'm guessing (as I once bought a Pilgrim screen) That only the 4-5" of pillar protruding through the body are actually needed for fixing. So cut them I had to do this with an Autobrass screen on the AK

Re: windscreen

Are you sure you have fitted the door hinges in the correct holes and on the outside of the chassis, My hinges are approx 2 inches below my windscreen mounting arms.

Re: windscreen

yes all in correct position . on the brasscraft screen the arms are about 12"long and slightly catch the corner of the hinge which is further down fromthe fixing slots, ithink iwill have to cut them but it would have been nice to have a extra fixing further down

Re: windscreen

Hi,
If everything is fitted correctly then all you should have to do is just cut a small notch in each of the windscreen pillars where they just catch the door hinge.Do NOT cut the arms down so that they are above the door hinge as you will find that the windscreen will move about when you drive it as the fulcrum/lowest fixing point is not enough to support the screen.
Regards
Gareth

Re: windscreen

I agree with Gareth, I took off a strip approx 1cm x 15cm long to clear the hinge.
Screen now solid, and a good job as passengers have a habbit of pulling on the screen to get out of the car.
