Coolant system help

Hi,

We just spent the weekend fitting our Rover 3.5 litre V8 engine to our Sumo (woo!). We've fitted the steering rack and the radiator and are now onto the stage of fitting the top and bottom hoses. Pilgrim sent us two of the flexible (sort of) hoses and two metal bends. I was wondering if it would be possible for one of you guys to show me a picture of how these pipes fit to the top and bottom of the radiator and then to the engine as we spent a while and couldn't work it out!

One of the flexible hoses fits perfectly to the bottom of the radiator but the end that fits to the engine has a wider lip on and is too wide for the engine fitting. Even if we clamped it it's so big there would be quite a big gap. Any pictures of an explanation into this would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

John

Re: Coolant system help

I've just done this myself this weekend. Here's a couple of photos of how they look, if you need bigger versions let me know.

The bottom hose goes through 90 degrees and joins the bottom of the radiator. The top hose curves over the top to meet the top of the radiator. I've use convoluted hoses which allow you to flex them into any angle, not sure how Pilgrim's hoses will fit, but you can see what you're aiming for at least.

The hoses should be 38mm (inch and a half) diameter at both ends to fit snugly.

http://www.desihose.com

Was about £16 + VAT a metre. You might want to ask they don't send it priority next day delivery, cost me £8 for that privilege and I wasn't that desperate for them!

Re: Coolant system help

Thanks for the hose info and comments! Luckily I managed to make it fit using the pictures you guys posted. I will take a picture of it when I've added the jubilee clips and show you.
