Smith's Speedo sensor

Hi,

I went for a set of Smith's dials for my Cobra. I'm just about to fit the sensor for the speedo. I was going to make a bracket and have the sensor running off either the bolt heads of the propshaft or a plate attached to the propshaft.

However I just read "Revet's" post about failing the SVA and he said he failed using the bolt system as the SVA man deemed it too unreliable. Is it just a case of using an ETB wheel between the diff and the propshaft to take the reading from? If so do you guys know where I can get this wheel and how much it costs?

I've already had to remove the prop twice to refit the gearbox after the clutch release mechanism fell off and am starting to lose my mind!

Thanks in advance,

John

Chedz,

Give Pilgrim a call, they'll post or fax a template for the bracket to you.

Re: Smith's Speedo sensor

Thanks John, I'm a long way off doing this at the moment, but I'll print it out and put it in the folder in the:
"Things that would have been useful in the manual" section.

Cheers

Re: Smith's Speedo sensor

We have a section like that and it's the same size as the manual!

EDIT: I'll post a picture of the bracket when it's finished.

Re: Smith's Speedo sensor

chedz (what's your real name?)

we finished the bracket yesterday. We decided that we wanted it to be more secure so added a brace to the chassis undernear the differential, I'll take a picture this morning and post it.
