Pilgrim V8 Rover exhaust manifolds

Recently purchased Sumo 3 with V6 Ford engine.
Looking to fit V8 Rover over Winter break.
Have Rover engine/gbox.
Will be needing additional parts to complete the change.

I believe parts reqd are:
Exhaust headers (to mate to std Pilgrim side pipes)
Propshaft
Engine & gbox mounts

Can anybody offer the above parts? - perhaps following upgrade from Rover to Chevy power?

I've recently read of the need to convert to cable clutch.

Is there anything else I should be aware of pls?

Re: Pilgrim V8 Rover exhaust manifolds

I think you have everything covered there, you may want to look at this post about putting a V8 engine into a Mark II Sumo.

Gran Turismo 4

Hope this helps,

John

Re: Pilgrim V8 Rover exhaust manifolds

Thanks for the guidance chaps.
I have contacted Pilgrim, who have a 'new' design of manifold - but these are very expensive.
Trying to keep to a reasonable budget - hence would accept second hand parts should they be available.

Re: Pilgrim V8 Rover exhaust manifolds

Ooo harsh! Actually I was talking to Tony about this only a few weeks ago, the current RV8 headers are a legacy from when Den ran the company. The new ones were designed by a customer and are much much better in my opinion. I have a picture here:

Proper 4 into 1 headers now.

Re: Pilgrim V8 Rover exhaust manifolds

I agree with paolo. Apparently they've been redesigned using chevrolet parts to improve airflow. We have them on our RV8 and they look and sound good.

Re: Pilgrim V8 Rover exhaust manifolds

I have ordered a few parts from pilgrim for our Viper, and we have not found their prices expensive (especially for boot hinges, door hingers and bonnet hinge).
They were also very concious of the fact it was not for a sumo and 'was i sure i wanted to buy the parts, because they might not fit', good customer care i thought.
I am linked in any way to pilgrim either before anyone asks .
Cheers

Re: Pilgrim V8 Rover exhaust manifolds

if you wanted a more permanent solution 'old p5 rover' cast manifolds dump into one end......ideal for 'missing' engine mounts....
and for sidepipes-these were used on early RAM demonstrators....so must be OK!!!(the silver striped metalic black one)
