Protecting the clutch cable

Has anyone got a neat solution for preventing the clutch cable rubbing on the electrical connections on the back of the starter motor solenoid?

Many thanks

QK

Re: Protecting the clutch cable

Re route it or sleeve the cable in some rubber hose or cap the terminals with a rubber boot?

Re: Protecting the clutch cable

QK we're in the process of finding a solution for this. We've managed to route it so it doesn't rub anywhere at the moment but are thinking of making some sort of bracket to hold it in place off anything important. I'll let you know what we do.

John

Re: Protecting the clutch cable

I had to encase the electrical cables in convoluted tubing (SVA failure), but I also wrapped a Plumbers soldering mat around the clutch cable to prevent it melting - held on with wire, and wrapped the manifold in exhaust wrap.

Re: Protecting the clutch cable

Richard, did you fail for having the cables in the tubing or for not having them in the tubing?

Re: Protecting the clutch cable

John, it was for NOT having the cabling sleeved - all of it - every exposed bit. This seems to be Southamptons area of focus. Wasn't a long job, and I agreed that it should go on some of the cables - speedo wire to sensor, but not every last bit - it was a tad excessive I thought.
All details of SVA posted into failing the SVA sticky topic.
