smashed front wing and nose

Guys please help!!!

Does anyone know whether pilgrim will do a partial body kit as I've smashed my front driver side wing in so badly that there is nothing left to rebuild.

In my sidecar racing days it was possible to get a partial fairing done from a mould so that it could be joined to the good bit.

Does anyone know whether Pilgrim would do this sort of thing? what I need is the nose of the car from the highest point of the two front wheel arches.

I will phone Pilgrim tomorrow but will be up all night worrying that they won't want to know. (i.e full body only).

I AM SO PIXXED OFF!

Also can metalic paint be sprayed so that old blends into new? I know the colour.

Regards,

Pete.

Sorry to hear of this

I would of thought that Pilgrim should be able to make you the section you require (I guess it depends on how helpful they want to be) otherwise it would be a whole body and cut out the part you need

Metallic paint can be very hard to match depending on finish etc.It has a lot to do with the pressure the paint was put on with as to how the metallic part of the paint sits as it hits the car as well as the type of paint used, viscosity nozzle size , speed of spray pattern etc.Lots of variables I'm afraid although the best way to find out would be to take it to the people who did the original paint.

Hi Gareth,

Cutting out just the part would seem a bit "mental", if Pilgrim won't help I'll dump the back end in there car park! (I just hope that Tony is a "good" guy and wants to help).

The problem with the paint is that it got done somewhere miles away up North.

I was looking at an article that Nigel Dean wrote about Berkshire Bodyshop, he reckoned that they were very good (but expensive). Oh well I've a long way to go before worrying about the paint!

Cheers,

Pete

A big patch of grease on a slip road of the M3.

I lost the back end which rode up a piece of barrier,(the ramp bit at the start) knackering the back wheel. The car then dropped off the barrier but because of all the opposite lock the I fed in the car did a 180 turn and drove the front end into the same barrier.

The chassis is fine but the rad is also knackered.

I bought the car one year ago to the day, i.e bonfire night!

Re: smashed front wing and nose

I know GD have a number of "partial moulds", so they can cut out a damaged section, and use the partial mould to repair the car in situ. I have seen some they do, and it seems to work fine.

I have no idea if Pilgrim do same, but I don't see why they cannot

Re: smashed front wing and nose

Sidecarbod, sorry to here about the barrier altercation. I should hope that Pilgrim would be very helpful. If not, just print off Gareth's thread about 'value for money' and hand it over as constructive feedback. This could be a very worthwhile opportunity for Pilgrim to raise their image. Either way, don't forget to tell them that you will post your anger/elation on this site for the world to read!!:thumb:

Not being able to get body sections would stop me buying a Sumo!

Best of luck mate!

Re: smashed front wing and nose

Hi Pete.
Sorry to hear your problem. But at least (I hope that) apart from dented car and pride, You and any passenger are OK? No reason that I can see why Pilgrim can't just lay up the front section of the mould Good Luck :thumb:
