| Hi Ian, As far as I'm aware it doesn't. In my case the number plate wiring was nun through the boot cavity but the rear light, fuel guage and pump wiring were not. I made sure the wires were taped down well with gaffer tape around the edge of the boot floor so as not to be caught by anything in the boot. The SVA man noticed this but passeb it OK. Different testers might have different opinions but I think the rule that applies to fixing brake pipes/wires does not apply to the boot area.

| Clive is right - there is no specific requirement to run wires in any particular place, but the tester will look to see if he feels that cables are supported, and adequately protected from chafing or impact from items of luggage shifting around within the boot.

| Mine run through the cavity, i drilled a hole then tied a small nut to some fishing twine and used gravity and lots of shaking to get the nut to the place where i wanted it, i.e. the hole for the numberplate light. i then used the fishing twine to pull some twin wire through and job done! |

| AHA So i did imagine it! looks like i have the choice either faff around with hole nuts string and make it look really nice or plastic clips and secured every 300 mm to the inside of the boot lid thanks guys thats set the weekend ends work schedule except for England beating Wales Ian |

| Ian I ran the number plate light harness thru the boot lid, its not as difficult as it looksl, as for the harness and SVA as long as its secure then you will be fine, I bonded small sections of plastic tube on to the body and fed the wires thru them. Took a few photos then boxed them in, the SVA guy was happy with the work and the photo evidence. |

| Back Again I've decided to run the wires to the rear number plate light through the boot lid so it goes in at the top through the void and then? does it come out and go to the back of the light or can you get it all the way to the rear light fitting in te void of the boot lid? and i've also given up rugby for cricket - or - football on Saturday - both could be serious mistakes Ian |
