| Rear nudge bars and over riders Help !!!! I've got my SVA on 27th July and am now panicing about the little finishing touches that need doing, got an MOT booked so I can test drive it and sort out the head light aim, tracking etc. But.... I have just taken delivery of a set of nudge bars and over riders from Autobrass - excellent quality by the way - and can't figure out how the rear bars are fitted. I know that a length of M10 studding screws into the over rider through the tube welded to the nudge bar, then through the body work and bolted in place. My question is how do you space the nudge bar away from the body. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated. Our second child is due in 4 days, SVA in 20 days and we're trying to sell the house so we can emergrate......TOO MUCH STRESS!!!!! |

| Thanks for that. Looking at your photo, would I be right in saying that you didn't have a bonnet prop. And in fact do I need to put in my boot prop for the test?? I know that this sounds like I'm cutting corners but the rest of the car is done, all that is left to do is:- 1. Bonnet/boot props 2. Front and rear bumpers 3. Set suspension heights for correct lighting regs. 4. Tracking/geometry (for steering wheel self centre test) 5. Check tightness of all nuts and bolts. 6. Re-check all nuts and bolts 7. Double check nuts and bolts. 8. Cross fingers 9. Buy large bottle of Whisky to bribe examiner |

When you do come to fitting the nudge bars you can space the overriders out by fitting one M10 nut in front of the vertical bracket in the boot that the stud passes through and then another nut once it has passed through the bracket. I think that you have to make the bracket yourself as Pilgrim don't supply anything. You can extend one of them up to act as the location point for the boot stay. There is quite alot of force on the end of the boot stay so make the bracket strong, i.e. triangulated or it will wobble about in a most unsatisfactory manner! You can by chromed copper tube from B&Q which covers the studding nicely. (Just don't use the bit that has the British Standard "BS" number on it!). Use large rubber grommets where the tube passes through the body work. HTH, Pete |

| Thank you for the help, And Clive I'm sorry about the bonnet stay. Just shows my ignorance thinking an expensive genuine article was just a stick. |
