cwdm,
when I made my underslung pipes I went to the local exhaust shop & asked for the thinnest he had. He promptly threw a pair on the counter & said these are for an E Type that someone ordered & never picked up.
They were perfect, along with pipe bends & flanges came to £100.
Sounded great when fitted too.
They had the British Leyland roundel on them so were pretty old, special order may be pricey!

Do they connect the manifolds to the exhaust with flexi pipe?

I'm having to think back a bit ( as I've now replaced the V6 with a RV but I think the pilgrim manifolds for the V6 came all the way down to under the floor. The underslung exhaust is straight and the join (manifold - pipe) can be seen in this picture. I will check the pipes in the daylight (they're behind the garage) and tell you if I'm wrong

Take the trouble to include a balance pipe; it gives you a less raucous note and lower back-pressure too. There are some nice 'flattened' silencers used on the TR5 or TR6, I had a pair on a Chevy powered car and they worked well. I wouldn't bother with glasspack, cherry bomb style mufflers.
