What Steering rack?

Bit confused about what steering rack to use on my Sumo running granny running gear and Rover V8 engine.

Cheers

Andy,

Sierra p100. They cost about 40 quid as a recon unit.

Are you not going to get the Pilgrim pack of reconditioned stuff for 500 quid? it seems like quite good value to me.

If your sticking with RV8 you can use the standard Sierra rack, only need the P100 if you are going for an american lump.

If you do not have a donor sitting in your drive and have to buy one then go for the P100 straight off

Jeff, you are quite correct, either rack will do. The P100 is just a skinny version that allows a SBC to be shoe-horned into a Sumo.

I don't think Donut has got a donor car.

I actually think that the Pilgrim offer of buying all the bits off then is quite good.

I have changed to Granada running gear as advised so i will either go for the Pilgrim Donor package or find the stuff from wherever.

Thanks for the info on the steering rack. Oh before i forget, does the steering rack come with fixing brackets if bought from motor factors or do they come from the donor?

Cheers

Andy

your steering rack bolts straight onto your chassis via some long M12(?) bolts, and a couple of locknuts. No need for any extra bracketry, Thats it!
