| Out of interest how old are the tyres ? ? If the car has been standing a long time in one position you can get flats forming on the tyres. This is not visually apparent but can lead to vibration at speed. A friend of mine some years ago had a Daimler Dart with the same problem. After changing most of the front suspension it turned out that the tyres had flats on them due to long periods of being parked with all the weight of the car on the tyres. Hope this helps,

| Hi Jan & Chris, Not sure if this will help, but I had a simiular problem on my Mk III. Eventually found that one of the rear drums (off side) had a crack in it. I can only assume that with it being cracked the hydraulic system somehow "pulsed" and with split brake curcuit this had an effect on the front nearside wheel. If you`ve got disc`s on the rear then I don`t think it could be the same situation. Bob |

| Not sure if it's too far from you, but Track Develoements are near Castle Coombe. They seem to know what they are doing according to various reports. They don't seem to be overly expensive either, could be worth a call/visit.

| Borrow a dial indicator gauge, jack the front of the car up and check the rims for run out in both axes. Then eyeball the tyres for being out of round as they spin. You might even get the dial gauge on a central tread rib if you are lucky. Then repeat for the rear - I spent an age trying to get rid of wobble at the front, only to discover it was actually a rear tyre................

| Thanks for all the advice so far.... This feels just like a wheel balance problem, as it shakes the steering wheel in your hands.

| Generally speaking. If it is solely wheel balance related it will come in at a given speed and you will be able to drive through it maybe 10mph further on. Or at least it will calm down.

| Sorry to jump in on this one but Chris would 30g make a difference to a wobble being felt?
