Unhappy Side Pipe manufacturer Dilemma

Hello Folks,
It's that time in the build when I need to empty the wallet (again). It's time to get the side pipes ordered and I have a dilemma of which manufature to go with.
I have a short list of "Custom Chrome" and "Sidepipes" Well to be honest they are the only two on the list so far.

I thinking of going for the stainless side pipe with the quad collector style. Can anyone reccomend one based on prices, quality, performance etc. I would also like to know what the best diameter is to go for i.e. 3.5", 4.0", 4.5".

I have a Mk3 Sumo with a 5.7 Chevy 300bhp.

Any advice gratefully appreciated.
Regards,

Pete

"Sidepipes" (Gary) puts out nice quality work/products and is relatively close to you.

You also have Powerspeed nearer to you http://http://www.powerspeed.co.uk/ (they did my headers - no probs)

and Zero http://http://www.zeroexhausts.co.uk/ (did Danny B 's pipes - lovely)

Both the above are in the Ashford area

HIB exhausts ( HIB-EXHAUSTS LTD - Home ) ....

I can recommend him, if you fancy a short break in North wales. He made and fitted mine in a day. You tell him exactly what you want and he will make it. And at a very competetive price!!

If you want some that are very close to the original Cobra spec, try Steve-art on this forum.

My pipes were the first ones he ever made, about 5 years ago. ( See my gallery). Since tnen he's made about 6 or 7 sets and has really perfected his craft.
I believe S&J Classic Car Supplies have a set for sale at the moment. They're stainless and the quality is excellent.

I hear a lot of professional manufactureres don't make them to the original spec because the construction is complex and time consuming. Therefore makes them pretty expensive. But I think Steve's pipes are very reasonable.

It was Steve who passed on the know-how to Fatboy, by the way. If Mark is still making them, he does a good set too.

Dave, that's not the case. Steve has been doing them in between other projects for years. Mark was just more known for doing them
