Hi ,
Have you fitted the slave cylinder the correct way up ? Jim

Hi Steve
I had my clutch conversion supplied by Magnum, and couldn't get the clutch to disengage. They questioned my bleeding the system ( I put litres through it with the bleed nipple to the top) and suggested araladiting a nut to the end of the slave pushrod. I never tried sticking a nut on the pushrod but ended up fitting a bigger bore master cylinder. My problem was the clutch never worked, I've heard of people taking the slave cylinder off to bleed the systrm but haven't tried that myself. Stu. |

Thanks for that Steve, and I'm glad you're happy with it.
As stu_e has suggested , it could be a mismatch in master cylinder to slave sizes, and changing to a larger bore m/cylinder would probably solve it. Jim

From the symptoms described - i.e. needing to pump the pedal to get clutch clearance, I would go checking the hydraulics some more. Could be a duff master cylinder? Also check the geometric relationship between the clutch pedal/pushrod/master in case there is significant side loading on the master cylinder piston. Do you ever get any fluid out of the back of the master cylinder?
Does the system lose hydraulic fluid at all?

As Wilf says it could be a duff master cylinder, I think TonyM had that problem a while back, the non return valve in the master wasn't sealing, and pushing the fluid back into the resevoir, when you press the clutch does the fluid level rise? Stu. |
