rover mount update.

have fitted new land rover disco mounts and took Graig and Russ's advise and let the engine find it's own bed. This would not have been achieved without making a slot for the mount to seat ..see pics attached.
I had made slots in the bracket for forward and backward adjustment when fitting the engine ...but after making vertical slots..would seem that the pre -drilled holes may not be in the in the right position, and can now see why the engine wanted to force it's way down.

thanks again

now where is that Butterscotch Angel Delight..?

That looks a lot better.

No wonder the old mounts broke before.

I'm surprised actually that you got the mounts to fit before? On the Land Rovers they have a vertical slot in the chassis because as you lift the engine up or lower it down, the studs move up vertically and not at the same angle as the threads. This means a simple hole would require the mounts to be bent into position during fitting.

Good work sorting it out now.

Craig.
