BB were cheaper for me too, and needing an insider just to sort a normal Insurance issue sums up Flux's problems. I also found it refreshing to talk to a nice friendly real person rather than the endless jobsworths at Flux who promised one thing then sent a letter contradicting it.

BB cheaper for me too by a reasonable amount - can't remember how much at the moment though.

They will provide road cover on the VIN number for SVA and MOT and will credit the sums paid for the temporary cover notes against the additional premium required for moving it to full risk (to a max of £75 I think). Also very helpful.

NB - as far as I can discern you can't drive the car to the DVLA inspection , but there are no problems with going to and from SVA and MOT centre. Great opportunity to flick V signs to the nice cameras!!

I've been with BB for 7 years now too.
Only claimed once in the early days and they were great.
This year came in cheaper than I paid 7 years ago.

funny old world BB quoted me £87 above Flux and when I gave them the opportunity to match quotes they said they could even get close!!!

The whole price issue is a funny one. I wouldn't have Insurance again with AF if they offered it to me for free given my past experience of their utter and total mind numbing stupidity.

Also before someone says "Oh they were fine with me..." then you were a luckier man than me.

To be fair the price was a side issue for me; not that Im rolling in it, but my experience is cheap Insurance always adds up to poor cover/payment somehow in the event of a claim or a refund. Im not saying that payng more guarantees the reverse of course, but my take on Insurance is if they behave with the commomly perceived attitude of a civil servant when your trying to give them your money, then how on earth can you expect a good response from them when you are asking them to pay a claim? Its understandable when you have a pal on the inside that things are going to run smooth, but what happens if one day you have to claim and its not a department where ha has authority, or your insider has left? Hope it never happens of course, but its a risk.

Anyway after a few years with Flux, I switched to BB; what a breat of fresh air; BB were clear friendly and followed up their telephone promises with the paperwork. unlike Flux who were incompetant and at times almost rude on the phone and their correspondance didnt reflect the promises made in phone calls, and was at times quite aggressive and overbearing.

Of course every business has its fans and detractors, but if you search Adrian Flux on here the general take appears to be of disatisfaction; search BB and its almost unanimously good.

It's a while back but basicaly it went like this, I didnt have as many problems as a lot of people had with fux but to summarise, at one renewal I was promised my documents but no docs arrived, I'd paid but got written to to say I hadnt paid (3 times) and each time I rang to address this I was told to ignore it then written to and told because I hadnt paid (I had....) the Insurance was cancelled, rang again they said ignore it, what landed next??? A letter saying my Insurance was cancelled, then a letter thanking me for my payment. Then the docs.

You dont want to know the shenanagins I went through on agreed value after following their requests to the letter; comical if it wasnt true.

Then at the next renewal a letter saying they would take the money for the renewal from my credit card unless they heard from me in the next 14 days; cheeky buggers; that did it for me and I so, not trusying Flux at all, I cancelled the card, and rang BB; best move I made; spoke to a person who understood Insurance rather than an AF clone reading from a script, and was promised docs which arrived on time, agreed value arrived as promised, all in all a good service and polar opposite to Flux
