Single Roll Hoops

Hi,

I a thinking of fabricatig 2 x single roll hoops for my Sumo build. Could anyone please tell me what the dimension is between the inside of the 2 legs?

Hi Andy,

Not sure what you mean by ''measurement between inside of two legs'' but centre to centre mine are the following -
Single hoop = 275mm
outside legs = 950mm apart
inside legs = 400mm apart

As I said these are centre to centre measurements, if you measure from between each leg this will vary depending on the diameter of tubing you use.

Surely the bosses will already be welded to the chassis which will determine the distance between centres of the roll bars, or are you going to fit the mountings as well.

Thanks for response Phil, I guess another way of putting it would be the inside diameter of the 180 degree bend at the top of the hoop.

Thanks for the response TINKA, the Sumo chassis only comes with the outer bosses welded in order to fit one double sized hoop across the full width. If you want 2 x single hoops you have to fabricate the inner bosses and position them yourself.

Hi Andy,

As I said it will depend on diameter of your tube but mine are 275mm centres & 225mm between the tubes which are 50mm diameter. ( 275 - 50 = 225mm ) As you've said you will have to fabricate the inside mountings so I would get the hoops made first & position mounts to suit !

Cheers Phil. I have found a tube bender local (Sheffield) that can bend the pipes to 226mm inside diameter which will mean the legs are 226mm apart, 276mm centre to centre. Thanks for your help.
