    Nudgebar

    Hi,

    A quick question,
Went to fit the front nudgebar and overriders, bought from Brasscraft

With the threaded bar located in the chassis there is a gap between each overider and the nudgebar, l searched and thought someone mentioned fitting a spacer here but cannot find it again.

If the bar goes to the outside of the chassis plates it will fit! The only other way l can see to cure this is to slot the holes in the body further but they will go out of the dimples, so l figure that can't be right.

Am l missing something really obvious
    Cheers

When will it ever be finished??!
Hopefully better luck 2nd time round!!!!!!
Or now the 4th time round......!!

I used extension plates off the chassis "ears" to move the mounting holes on the chassis outboard and thus allowing the threaded bars to match the width of the nudge bar.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Paul,

Yes, was thinking that was the logical way but couldn't seem to find any mention of it in the search
Surprising really for what seems a major defect

    Thanks again
    Cheers

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me, is the nudgebar supposed to be the same distance from the body all the way round, just seems like it will be pointing down quite a bit or do you let the bottom edge come further forward
    Cheers

Yes it should be the same distance all the way round, well mine was.

I've often been asked, "What do you old folks do now that you're retired?
Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch and margaritas into urine.

    Life's good, live it.

There are some pictures in my gallery link below but mine is pretty much the same all around too. I know it's a Dax but not much different.

For the gap between the overiders and the bar I used some stainless tubing cut to length to act as spacers over the studding.

Dax Tojeiro, + 355 Chevy + Tremec box = In storage and possibly for sale, make an offer...
DB Hardtop still in the garage.
Polishes to date = On hold.

Not sure why Mr Brasscraft makes them a little under sized, but mine were the same. Maybe it's Pilgrim that make them too wide. I used a square of teflon on each side as a spacer. Don't know why teflon - I think someone had given me some.

    Hi,

    Thanks for all the replies,
I decided to go for the extra plates off the chassis, seemed the easiest/best solution
Will try and load some pic's up.
To be fair to Chris at Brasscraft, l don't think anyone has mentioned this to him before.
l phoned him and he was grateful for the info, l think it is a Pilgrim thing as there are 'dimples' in the bodywork which dictate the position.
Have to say l am really pleased with the stuff l got from him, superb quality
    Cheers
