| Flash lines Having sanded down the flash lines on my (Sumo's) Blue gel coated body, a couple (well 3)of questions. Is the flash line across the front scuttle just behind wiper holes covered up by the windscreen when the screen is in place (have yet to buy screen). When trying to fill slight imperfections in the gel coat, how do I remove the white plastercene (?) form the hole first and is it necessary to dig the "dip" out a bit to allow the new gel coat to get a better hold. Also, is it best to use an electric polisher to polishthe gel ocat to remve the sanding marks. Is the mains powered twin handled polisher available at car shows for approx £30 any good ? Hope this makes sense David |

| RE: Flash lines Hi David, Yes the screen will cover up the flash line. It isn't a very good seam there so lucky it is covered. to dig out the white specs use a wooden pick (tooth pick) as they are less likly to do to much damage if you slip) I had bought a polisher like the on you mention and have since bought a polisher from machine mart (£100 +) the dual handle ones are fine for applying wax and polish but if you are wanting it to compound polish the gel coat then you really need to get a machine you can change the heads on. skrewfix sells the compounding heads and pastes - you will need a white mop for compounding (Ideally 2, one for the G3 paste and another for G10 liquid). | RE: Flash lines Danny, Thanks for reply, did you use "screw fix" for the G3 and G10 ? I understand that G3 is what you start with, is G10 the next and final compound ? P.S. I thought you had sprayed yours ? David |

| RE: Flash lines You right with the order and yes I used Screw fix for mops and pastes. I have painted, but to save some pennies I'm compounding and polishing the car myself. Will save up for the usual paint job befitting the splendour of the shape once it has settled down. Just fancied having the car with stripes to see if it's somthing I can live with - Tried Vinyl but didn't rate it.
