Sumo and Ford Scorpio Cosworth as Donor Car Hi, I'll start building a pilgrim sumo spring 2004. Now I'm still thinking about what kind of donor car to use. Because I want a powerfull engine and a low average consumption of petrol, I thought about using a scorpio cosworth V6 24V. Are there any special points to consider with that kind of car? Has anyone experience with a cosworth as a donor car? thanks for your help Sebastian

RE: Sumo and Ford Scorpio Cosworth as Donor Car I was told by Pilgrim that the Scorpio Cosworth engine won't fit into the engine bay of the Sumo. Cheers, Andy http://www.corporanda.com/cos-race.gif http://www.fierofactory.org

RE: Sumo and Ford Scorpio Cosworth as Donor Car I think thats not the problem, i know a guy who already has the cosworth engine from a '90 scorpio in his sumo. but he took the normal v6 as a donor car and changed the engine to cosworth without the gear. perhaps the gear could be the problem, but thats something i want to change nevertheless cause i want manual transmission and the cosworths have only automatic ones. i thought perhaps there could be trouble with the axes or something like that. thanx for the help Sebastian

RE: Sumo and Ford Scorpio Cosworth as Donor Car Hi, Have you considered a Fiero Euro 427? Much better chassis than the Sumo. I was told by Pilgrim, you'll see I use the same engine in my Cobra, that the engine sits to high in the engine bay and if you lower it then the sump is to close to the ground to be safe. As long as the Sumo can take the 7.5" Scorpio dif then I don't see any other problems using a Scorpio donor. Cheers, Andy http://www.corporanda.com/cos-race.gif http://www.fierofactory.org
