heater

What have people done about the heater control?
I've been working away at my better-than-Pilgrim dashboard design, but I'm having writers block with the stupid non-SVA lever thing. Perhaps I shouldn't bother, and just leave it on "screen", or maybe inset it, though the little panel on the Mini heater is so tacky...any artistic, stylish, yet simple suggestions?

RE: heater

Took mine off and left it directed at the screen. Then engine bay does get quite warm from the heat of a V8 engine. If this is not enough then you can always insert a Y-shaped piece of pipe from the screen and direct this to the cab for additional heat.

RE: heater

hi berni.
fitted my heater as far back as possibe and removed the heater control. then fitted the control lever to the right hand side of the driver footwell just below the dash. then attatched a control cable from the lever to the flap on the heater, works perfectly and no tacky plate on the dash.

RE: heater

An excellent idea, I think.

RE: heater

Used Mark Ash's suggestion and put a motor and limit switches in place - push button and it moves the louvre. Removes restriction on location of heater...works well too!
