Wiper Motor

Can any-one help me!!

I have got a new wiper motor for my pilgrim sumo
(351 cleveland+tremec tko box).The problem is this-
when the stalk is in the off position the motor still runs on slow speed,as it also does in the intermediate position!
I have checked the wiring, all seems to be ok,the motor was sent back
to europa they say its ok, so i pluged it into my brothers mini
and guess what? it does exactly the same thing! Surley this suggests that it is the motor at fault!

any ideas will be more than welcome.

RE: Wiper Motor

Sounds like you need a multimeter to see what power is going where and when. If you search this site, there's a pin layout explanation somewhere, so you'll know what's supposed to happen.

RE: Wiper Motor

Id probably guess that the new motor that you,ve got is wired internally different from the old one or that the connections to it are slightly different to youre old one.
Id first disconnect it from the car and locate the earth on it and then the positive connect to battery and see what happens and take it from there. Also check that you dont have an earth (neutral) fault to the motor as these can cause all sorts of problems but are quite often overlooked.
