Fuel sender

I know this post is late as i've already passed SVA but my fuel tank is out due to a leak and i thought i'd post the question anyway.
I realise that the fuel sender float needs bending to clear the tank internals but whats the best shape to bend it? :tu

RE: Fuel sender

This may sound a little naff, but bend it in a straight line!

What I mean by this is that from the float and the end of the sender, to the top of the arm (where it hinges), this must obviously be kept straight else the sender will not read correctly.

If this makes no sense let me know and I'll try some diagrams.

Cheers,
Tony B

RE: Fuel sender

I think i know what you mean Tony, the bend has to be in the same plane as the angle of swing, but a diagram would be appreciated just to make sure, :tu

RE: Fuel sender

Tony,

You're right - hopefully the diagram shows how the bend should be.
When viewed from the side, the arm on the sender should still be in a straight line. When viewed from the front, you can see the bend.
