Sumo's in Scotland

I originally posted this in the AK forum, but a change in budget due to the immenent arrival of baby No. 4 has forced me to adjust my budget!!

Are there any Sumo owners in or around Glasgow who would be willing to let me have a look at their car, so I can have a better idea if a trip down south with a fistful of cash to order a kit is worth the journey?

Just think, by letting me look at your car you could be saving the NHS a fortune in contraception as I'll be spending hours locked in the garage instead of putting more strain on the future of the Scottish education system!!

Re: Sumo's in Scotland

this might sound crazy but neil (see for sale stuff) has a sumo in botley n. yorks which is just beautiful, i looked at it for an indecisive mate. 2.8v6 ford, never been in the rain, slate grey with red leather, better than you could build it for the money £9995

i bought instead of building the quickest and cheapest way- especially with kiddies on the way...

Vortex

Building one in IRVINE, Ayrs.

Just about to fit the body. Doing a few engine mods at present, Weber 500, distributor, heads. Body goes on when happy with these.
Wheels, exhausts, wiring, dash, fuel etc all in place.

Welcome to see it. Plenty photographic evidence.

Phil

Re: Sumo's in Scotland

Thanks for the offers.
Brian, I work over at the Airport, so it would be great to have a look at your p[roject sometime.
Phil, if I'm ever down your way I'll get in touch.

Good to know I'm not the only one in the area embarking on a Cob!!

If either of you ever need a hand with anything get in touch. I used to be a Mecahnical Engineer out in the North Sea so I at least know which end of a 2lb Fine Calibration Instrument (hammer!) to use.
