aha! - so, it does look like there is a limit in a couple different ways:
jpg file size (1024x768 works fine)
it doesn't like large PNG either, 1024x768 is too big - could be a file size issue - 1.5MB at this resolution
but got it working again based on the above info - cheers :)
Sadly Rob hasn’t been on or done any maintenance for years now, I’ve got the Admin rights for sorting out logons/password resets/banning peeps etc, but fairly sure I can’t tweak the fundamentals……although I will go have a play later tonight and see if I can up the piccy size limits.

can we amend png to 4MB, none*none (assuming none*none means no limits) - it's better quality than jpg, as it's a loss less compression method unlike jpg.

PNG now set at 4000000 bytes, none*none (pixel limits). So that should work ….or block totally (don’t really know how the pixel stuff works in the settings).
