Newbie

Hi

I am new to this forum and looking into buying a Cobra.

Is there a club meeting in Scotland or do you guys attend any of the shows?

Andy

Hi Andy

I'm in Edinburgh. A bit quieter up here club wise. Not yet been to an Cobra Club do's ( if there have been any ) - I tend to get out to Knockhill etc. I'm at Doune hillclimb next Sunday.

I'm going to trade up my Sumo to an even crazier one. So let me know if yo're inrterested. it gets more attention and admiration than a Murcielago ( parked next to mine today at Knockhill )

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris

I may well be at Doune next week myself as I work with a guy who competes in the hillclimb championship.

I will keep an eye out for you

Andy

Hi again Andy.
As we are few and far between north of the border there are not too many meets and they tend to be at different locations.
There are several shows throughout the year and we tend to go as individuals rather than as a club.
Today I was at the Classic Car Show at Errol, and a few weeks before that there was a show at East Kilbride that a few were at.
Later in the year some of us will be taking part in the Callander Classic and the Three Lochs.
The main event for us however will be the Silverstone Classic in July, an event well worth the effort I believe.
The Scottish Regional Rep is Ed Strachan edward.strachan@homecall.co.uk drop him an e-mail and I'm sure he will keep you posted.

Hi there

I'm based in Perth not far from Clive (who I met for the first time today at the Errol Classic Car Show - Nice to put a face to the name Clive and thanks for putting up with me drooling over your car!) perhaps we should setup a regional meet? There are quite a few of us up here now so it might be of benefit...

Also I'm a member of the Alfa Club (Scotland) and Cobra owners are always welcome to join their 'twice-yearly-track-nights' at Knockhill - they're just a bunch of petrol heads at the end of the day, and the only thing they love more than an alfa is a V8 powered car so if any of you fancy coming along just drop me an email - the next night is sometime in August.

CeeJay.

Having been away from the site for some time due to house building I am now in the sad position of parting with my Cob to pay for a kitchen and driveway. If any of you discerning gents are interested in a well specced GD with all the go-faster Edelbrock bits on a tuned and balanced Chevy 5.7 with a Tremec box then send me a pm - I'm local (Edinburgh!)

Well guys it looks like I have found my car, just got a few details to sort out with the seller but will hopefully have it in the next week or so. It's a Dax with 350 Chevy, sidepipes etc etc.

I picked up some good buying tips from Chris(ceejayjay), they all went out the window as the heart tends to rule the head but what the hell!!

Just need the weather to improve now and it should be a good summer. Hopefully see some of you guys out and about soon

Happy motoring.......

Andy
