Well, they do occasionally look at this forum.....!
Be useful to state what the width of the Sumo scoop is front and rear.
IIRC older Sumo bonnets are single skin apart from the perimeter, whereas newer ones have a complete inner skin on the...
Yup still got it.
Assuming you know abut the retaining clip and plastic cog? If not happy to have a chat.
We can discuss via PM.
So if going to LB test centre, my guess is the VIN plate should be fine - sorry to worry you!
thats what I was also advised to do, and did, although it was just the bottom cm - I could have jacked up the front instead.
Re: mirrors
I had always assumed they had to, and thats why 'torpedo' mirrors were unlikely to fail. Others seem to think so to:...
Standard stuff. Just check the height of the bottom of the rims of the front indicators - I think its 350mm from memory, but don't believe what I say!
As above, 2 ali wheel spacers to push wheels out by 5mm each side.
Were going to be fitted on my Trigo hub adaptors, turned out to be a needless purchase.
Will fit XJ6 PCD wheels.
£40 pair,...
IIRC it is measured from the bottom.
Not usually an issue, its usually more of a challenge getting the front indicators to the right height.
Looking really good - the reflectors on the rear look very pro.
Couple of observations -
Might need to check radiuses on the coffin lights - ignore if its been mentioned previously in the build...
Paul was going to have first dibs, but we haven't actually managed to meet up as we had planned, and I think we both kinda forgot about it.
I wanted to sell them as a pair.
Paul - let me know in...
Nice idea - like it.
Thanks James.
I did mock up a plinth using acrylic, which was a total PITA to cut - kept melting.
A quick mock-up showed that 6mm should be fine for plinth thickness, but below the coffin light the...
If its a RV8 the oil pump is on the side of the engine - repacking is easy, but messy.
I am guessing its a different block, in which case I cant comment other than my FE stood for 5 years, and I...
so is it SORNED? If not, that a big back tax bill as well.
...and repack the silencer with acoustifil - its great stuff.
Great work.
Just check the top edge of the printed filler cap piece for radius requirements.
I fitted Galaxy 15 x 235s all round - excellent value and a good alternative to Avons.
When time/budget allowed me to upgrade, I used a pair of the 235s on the front and sold the surplus 2 tyres, as...
I used a large self-tapper into a piece of ali angle from B&G top and bottom so that can be removeable. I drilled some holes in the vertical surface of the ali brackets and then bonded them in as a...
If you want to do that (I did, budget and time prevented anything else) you will need to fit V-rated tyres all round.
AFAIK you just need to prove the age of the block, and state the bhp - the latter is not tested but it needs to look plausible.
Your other points on speedo and tyres - all good.
I would call Pilgrim so you have the right numbers - the SBC is significantly heavier than a RV8.
Have you got anywhere in mind for paint?
Nice work Paul, looks good.
