Ill probably be there but not in the Dax. It's nice just to bimble and browse the stalls without actually looking for that specific nut or rogue piece of metal, and occasionally pick something up...
Anyone know if the bushes and bearings on the Dax pedals assembly can be replaced? My clutch pedal has got very squeaky and very notchy. Makes pulling away rather interesting, especially hill starts....
I drove it for the last time to Compton Abbas Airfield for breakfast to find……..they were shut for bank holiday!!!! Uh? Glad I’m not a share holder in that place!
So back to Wimborne for...
1st May there is a gathering of Classic Cars in Christchurch, Dorset. Only £1 admittance per car regardless of how many passengers. Cheaper than the local car park as you can leave your car there...
I think the hand brake pads are separate. They are tiny things with a corner chamfered off. If you have any difficulty obtaining any I believe I have a set or two kicking around. But don’t hold me...
I have done this post build with my car and will be doing it again in the coming weeks.
Assuming your differential is an XJ6 unit, heed the following. For ease be prepared to spill some brake fluid...
I will endeavour to be there if I can get the car out of the garage. Patio laying and repairs may prevent that though!
I had the same problem but used a sort of spongy tape, similar to the stuff you stick mirrors on with. I also manage to 'tease' a curve into my badge and it sits quite well. Mine is the AC badge...
Just seen this. My car is off the road for the foreseeable. Loads of things I need to catch up on. I can't just keep driving it without fixing some of the issues.
Bought a replacement diff last week...
Spotted black Cobra with two white stripes. (Not mine) Probably a Dax with Revolution wheels perhaps? Quietish engine, around Winton, Bournemouth on Saturday morning about 08:45 - 09:00.
This may be down to the reducing numbers of show attendees over the years. They have to recoup some of the money they would otherwise get from the general public.
Thank you. I'll drop them an email.
Cheers.
David.
Hi all. Has anyone on here rebuilt their own Jaguar LSD? I have a 3.07 PL which needs to come out for a seal change and looksee. How much work is there in overhauling one of these?
Being an engineer...
No. Never been there and I'm not on Facebook. I used to be but I kept getting into trouble with my outspoken posts! So I deleted my account, never to return.
My next door neighbour had some roof damage during the storms a few weeks ago. It is now being repaired and thus there is scaffolding in the driveway blocking my car in. If it’s gone by the weekend...
As above, if weather is OK I will be going to this meet. The address is 9 Allens Lane, Hamworthy, Poole. BH16 5DA. Its about 15 minutes drive from the usual meeting place, The Horton Inn.
I am not...
That’s added to my calendar. Would be good to get a few members together from Wessex/Wilts wing to form a group cruise to there.
Ill be up for that. I have lots to do on mine though before I venture out too far. Exhausts need repacking. Oil leaks to cure and now my garage is stinking of fuel. Not to mention an overdue service...
Well the days are getting a little longer now but the weather is pretty miserable. However, looking onwards to the coming months it would be nice to see if we can get some bodies and cars together...
I used to be an avid attendee during the late 1990's to early 2000's and it was great. Not enough time in one day to get to see everything. I took the old girl there in 2019 expecting great things...
I did point him in the right direction, hopefully we will see him here soon. Nice chap.
I saw this car yesterday on the back of a trailer. Had a quick chat with the new owner about it, he seems fairly enthusiastic although it is a project. Body has had lots of work done and once painted...
Pros and cons with buying an older car but that depends on its history. Most of the gremlins would have been sorted out by now although as previously said, aging then comes into it with bushes etc....
February issue now out with a good write up on Cobras. Front page heads up with Cobra Legends.
