Surely as the clutch wears, then the slave cylinder moves further out so the level of fluid in the reservoir falls to compensate?

How bad is the leak? Are you losing a lot of oil? Is it making a mess? If the answer to those questions are not much, then just live with it until it gets worse. These old engines are prone to leaks...

I'm not sure about electric gauges, but there might be air trapped under the sender which is getting compressed. Try easing the sender off with the engine running to bleed any air out then...
