Try unplugging the EPAS, it should work just like a standard rack and should self-centre.
Evening Folks,
After a bit of advice around Epas and how to achieve self centering.
I have just had a DCE Microsteer Epas kit fitted and went to the engineering firm to test the car, which is a Dax IRS with sierra column etc. The Epas felt great, but there was no self centering, so I asked the guys to fix that before i was prepared to take the car back. I know that IVA require self centering and in general its my opinion that self centering is an absolute must.
Has anyone had this issue after fitting an Epas kit and what was the fix? They tried adjusting the caster angle to 10 degrees, but this didn't really make any difference.
Keen to get some ideas to try and help the chaps out. Their next step is to contact the Epas manufacturer for guidance.
Cheers
Brad

I removed my EPAS due to lack of self-centring and lack of feel. Yes, it's heavy at parking speeds now, but it's a nicer drive.
DAX Cobra. May contain nuts. Always read the label.
Hi Just wondering if you managed to resolve your self centring problem as I have a similar issue with my corsa set up. Regards Dave
I didnt. I had the company remove the power steering and now back to normal steering.
I’m worried I have the same issue too, we’ll find out this weekend !!
Hope yours works out fine.
I’ve taken the pump off and self centering is working !!
Ordered a new pump as the one I had fitted was from a scrap yard, fingers d for next weekend.
If not I’ll go to IVA with no power steering
So this is not the popular Corsa style EPAS (which has no pump) ?
Cheers
