    Tunnel price for le-mans 08.

    Ok guys,

I have been speaking to Eurotunnel with regard to a group booking discount for Le-Mans.

The price they have given us at the moment is 78.00per car return.

This is based on going out on the Thursday morning on the 0950 train and returning on the Sunday on the 2200 train and is based on 25+ cars.

I just put those times etc as a guide as that is what I did last year.

    Anyone intrested.????

    Gareth, re our conversation.
It makes sense due to your location etc that you arrange the tunnel crossing for next year.
Also as discussed, the idea of speaking to them about a 'window' for the crossings is a good idea, that way it gives everyone options.
Just post up your findings when you have spoken to them again.

    Thumbs up

    Hi Gareth,

I would be interested in using the Eurotunnel next year.

Out on Thursday morning & back again on the Monday would be good for me.

Let us know when there is more information.

    Thanks,
    Roger

If you are talking about the classic.

I expect to have about 10 cars going out Thurs am, returning Mon teatime.

When I tried block booking before I think it was 15 cars Andy Soar will remember; 25 is a lot to get a bit of discount.

Following on from my first post I have spoken to Eurotunnel again today with regard to bookings for next years Classic.

There are basically two options available but EACH option (as it stands) requires us to have a MINIMUM of 25 cars on the same outward and return journey to get the price they have quoted us.

Due to Eurotunnel's booking policy we cannot split the booking over a combination of times & dates to suit everyone so therefore there are only TWO options which are as follows

    OPTION 1

0950 outward journey on the Thursday and returning on the 2150 train on the Sunday night.
The price for this is £78.00 per car based on minimum of 25 cars.

    OPTION 2

0950 outward journey on the Wednesday and returning on the 2150 train on the Sunday night.
The price is £98.00 per car based on minimum of 25 cars.

To get either of these prices we need the required number of cars to book so therefore the price will depend on the actual number of cars.If we have less than 25 on the chosen route then the price WILL go up accordingly.

To get a more accurate idea of who would be intrested in taking up this option would those who are intrested please indicate your preferred option below by cut and paste.

    OPTION 1

    OPTION 2

    Gareth08

Now for the nasty bit.(sorry guys)

If you put your name down on one of the above and we reach the required number of cars on one of them you are commiting yourself to go on that date/time etc because if people then pull out they will be affecting others who have made a commitment to go.
Equally if we get 25+ cars on one option and 10 on the other then anyone on the other option is free to change to the one we will book.

The price is currently held for 14 days so could people intrested please let me know by next Wednesday at the latest please.

If we go ahead with this then I would require a 50% payment at the time of booking and the balance due around mid April.

If we cannot reach the required number of cars for a discount then I will get a price for the Option that has the largest number of cars and go from there. The price will go up as well the longer it is left to book.

    Hope this makes sense.
