Content for inclusion in the mag needs to be 2 pages of A4 text and a dozen or so good quality images.
And it needs to be cobra related.![]()

As you are aware, Tony has stepped down as Chairman. Tony did a great job as chair and he deserves our thanks.
Now, to ensure the club continues with sterling work that Tony initiated, we need someone to step up and follow it through to conclusion. Finding a chair can be a challenge, so until we do find someone, I have agreed to step in as INTERIM chair.
The changes that have been put in place are things like reducing the weight of the paper used in the mag, which reduces printing costs, postage costs and finishing costs. There are a number of other initiatives that Tony put in place and I will run through those at a later stage.
In terms of the mag, the mag is generated from content submitted by the members, and to ensure we get the required content, we will be rewarding those members.
Club members who submit content which is reproduced in the mag will get the next years membership free, a book or something completely different.
We are also investigating some of the other suggestions put forward on the forum, and will be looking as forging close ties with manufacturers or suppliers to ensure Club Members get exclusive deals and services.
If you have any contacts or have excellent relationships with manufacturers or suppliers, please let me know by PM and we can start the ball rolling.

Crossed over for a while - Overlanding- Some people are just like slinkies, they don't really have a purpose but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Robert,
Well done for standing in as Interim chair. I sincerely hope that a permanent replacement can be found.
Cheers, Clive

I've often been asked, "What do you old folks do now that you're retired? Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch and margaritas into urine.
Life's good, live it.

It'll get you some new friends and the view count will go up!
How about
1) a new profile of car and builder in each issue
2) pictures of a monthly meet, say from a different meet each issue
3) best tip/upgrade section
4) cobra wives (across bonnet) only kidding getting as bad as Miket now
4) showcase of suppliers or new products (must be worth some advertising income)
5) probably come up with some more once i've had some sleep
and loads more ideas from other crc members/forum members
and i must say i am surprised that Robert doesn't charge for forum as it is a mine of information as well as humorous banter and i would be prepared to pay for it.
Many thanks for all your hard work Robert and congratulations for stepping up to the position when needed. Well done that man.
kind regards
Andy

Well done for standing in there.
I know first hand what it is like trying to get good help, so I think I fully understand how difficult it can be at times. Being secretary of a children’s footy club for 6 years now and a coach and manager for 11, we have over 20 teams an age groups which is over 400 kids. At our annual tournament (over 5500 people over the weekend) that has been going for 20 years now we get the same 5-6 people running it, obviously moving on a few at a time each year. Most of our managers don’t want to do s*d all for the collective, just complain, just in it for themselves, nothing new anywhere.
I have also been the builder and owner of my Cob since 1988, so I know the initial club and meet and used to attend the Crispin pub meet every month near Windsor.
Without the internet or www in the summer months we would get over 20-30 Cobs there lunch times, even in the winter we used to get 3-5. Now without the www that was pretty impressive so whey cant we do better at our regional meets?
Also I can speak with some experience of articles and info on this marquee, having owned my own Classic restoration business for many, many years, painting and repairing these cars, and submitting articles to the old club mag.
What do we find when we give advice, even on here, a cocky sarcastic reply “yeh I wouldn’t do it like that, that’s not right, my way is better” and so on.
Some of the readers on her need to shut up and just read the articles for what they are, some ones work, idea and rectification and resolve of a problem. No one, including me and some of my articles, are saying they are right and or the best, they are our interpretation of a problem that had to be solved. No wonder we have got p*ssed off sending in items just to see them slagged off, only to see the “experts” car at the next meet and wonder where they became an expert, and their idea was better! Right.
Please, everyone has a voice and an idea and something to say regarding articles, don’t criticise them publicly, take them for what they are, some ones experience, add to it, don’t criticize it.
Cheers
David
Maybe chase up some EU members for their problems? Club Martin in France has Pilgrim owners as well as the cob kits and bits sold to Martin France were, earlier on from Pilgrim.
May I echo the thanks already given to Robert for stepping in.
Coincidentally, as a relatively new member I received my pack of goodies yesterday which begs the question; What is the interest rate on my CRC Membership Card as I filled the Cob up on it yesterday and am thinking of buying a 'fridge' to stick the magnet on...
