Hawk Cars at Goodwood Festival of Speed

Had the unfortunate experience of meeting Gerry Hawkridge at Goodwood yesterday.
I honestly don't think I've met anyone with a poorer attitude manning a shop / stall at an event.
He had no customers and I walked in and enquired re. His polished bodied 289. I mentioned it looked good and asked if it was Kirkham bodied? This clearly offended him as he replied sternly "no its Hawk bodied".
I then asked if he made the body in house and he said no Kirkham make them and he provides with his chasiss.
I asked for a price and he said "a hundred grand".
He must be trading really well to behave like this, as this type of attitude would not have encouraged me or many would be buyers to do business with him if he needs any new business.
Good luck to Hawk Cars for the future.

Tapping one of his ally bodies is the best way to bring out his good side (not)

Same approach as Pilgrim then! Not much of an advert for the industry.

LOL! Let's make a pact now to all have a 'tap' on the way past his stand at Exeter later this year

None of you are adopting the correct approach.

Just say ' Hello Hawk old fellow, are your cars any better than Den Tanner's?'

I notice on the AC owners club site that one gent is utterly determined that his Kirkham is not a kit car. Perhaps Hawk have decided they are no longer part of the cheap and nasty kit industry and are displaying some of the astoundingly patronizing and superior attitudes found on the ACOC?

Not sure what Pilgrims excuse could be tho??
