    For an age related plate you need from your donor, axles front and rear, steering and suspension (you can fit aftermarket dampers).

    If I did it again I would buy all new or refurbished parts but still assemble it myself.

    If you get a rolling chassis and the only second hand major part from the "list" is the engine, then you can have a new plate or any other you care to purchase and use.No MOT for 3 years, possibly 4.

    i haven't posted since i started this thread.
    I started my build from scratch with some help from Pete the b. I started with the engine and donor parts before ordering the chassis. The body is on order now and hoping for delivery in March. This is progress so far.

    Looks good, one thing, is your diff housing aluminium/magnesium?
    I know these are available from Crosthwaite + Gardiner in UK but have never seen one.
