    Sierra column switches

    'Evening all,
On top of the R/H Sierra column switch cluster there are two spade connectors. can anyone tell me what they are for? The Pilgrim wiring diags don't seem to refer to them and they don't appear to be numbered. Am I right in thinking they should be connected to earth?

    Regards,
    Andy.

Hmmm...Rob, I don't think they're for the horn, as I have a centre push in the middle of the steering wheel which is connected via a black two-pin connector to earth and the neg side of horn relay.(All wired in and working)

Ignore the connectors, the switch should earth through the screws that hold it on with an earth wire. at least mine works that way!

    Andy,

As Rob said they are both Earth connections but not, as you have said, for the horn. Attached gives Sierra pin outs & Pilgrim connections. You will need 31 connected, 55 is earthed when the side lights are on – not needed for standard Pilgrim loom.

    Hope this helps,
    Ian

Thanks for replies, chaps and to Ian for his excellent comprehensive diagram.
I just nipped out to the garage and using a multimeter, did notice that when the light stalk was operated, a connection was made internally between the two spade connectors.
So, as they're both for earths, then, as Ian says, there is only need to connect the one marked '31' to earth (a little job for the morning.)

    Regards,
    Andy.
