    Car Cover for trailering home..

So picking up my Cobra project this week. Booked a trailer and thinking ahead in case its lashing it down
i have a 250 mile return trip with the car

I am thinking of covering it up on the car trailer and then roping over the top of that along with some lashing straps i have

It has twin rollbars and was wondering the best size of cheapish cover to buy.. would a 4m cover do the job?

    Personally I wouldn't bother.
Pull out seats and carpet where possible. if not, just get a tarp and bungee it down over the cockpit.
Presumably there is a bonnet and boot already in place?

If its painted, any cover is likely to damage the paintwork with wind buffeting.

Agree with Kevin; covers are a PITA to tow with.

I also agree with the previous posts, having bought a cover that was good for inside when going for IVA it was such a pain in the arse that I just ripped it off and let it all get wet, but not too bad but I’d never cover a newly painted car for as mentioned you’ll destroy it and be disappointed. My car is nearly ready for paint and is going to be mostly stripped but for the return journey painted I’m looking to hire a covered car transporter trailer, it may seem expensive but look at the time effort that goes into these projects and we all know it makes sense, good luck with your project.

Just cover the cock pit area .Ideal if you have a tarpaulin cover. Tape down front edges and bungie cord under the car and over top.
