From what I've read, if the fins are folded back 180 degrees and no more than 40mm apart then they'll be ok?

    Hope this helps?

If the blades are single cut from 2mm sheet then no if folded sheet with a round edge yes. Never seen any main stream manufacturers do those. I took mine out and put a simple Ali blanking plate mounted at the back of the recess. Some testers will accept small rubber u strips on the edges of each blade. I didn't want to risk it,as the vents are a bitch to take out especially the o/s on the AK and you wouldn't pass with just the hole.

Hi rog. They are folded but not sure are rounded enough think is only 1 mm stainless so when folded maybe not quite rounded enough is borderline i think

    Hi David

Extract from manual P16 'Grills, gaps, slots, recesses & holes which have a width of more than 25mm & up to 40mm determined by the contact of a 100mm sphere must have a radius of at least 1mm, more than 40mm then 2.5mm radius'

As you say could be borderline depending on your spacing's.

Have you got a date yet ?

I went through with the Dave Brookes ones and they are folded in the same way as the Dax ones, as long as the edges are folded you will be fine

    Hi David

That's why I chose to fit the Ali plates. I do know AK put cover strips on theirs for IVA. I think Paul may have the Cobra Tone fabricated special vents, which I believe are folded.

Good luck for the 6th, it really is no big deal as long as you have digested the manual and applied the rules. Mine was all over and done in 3 hours and a first time pass.
