    Cool Fuel filler recess mesurment

    hi all
    just about to start putting in the fuel filler recess in the rear wing

    what i need to know from a DAX body that had the recess put in from when the body was made
    the length over the top of the wing from the edge of the fuel filler recess to the first moulded edge where the driver door stars,

    When I fit them I sight through from inside the boot so that the front of the recess is about 1/2" back from the inner wheel arch.
    That way you don't have to thread the filler hose from the wheel side of the wheel arch where all the sh1t gets thrown up.

    Then trim around the recess moulding so there is only around 1/2" of rim and grind the mating faces and bond in place rom the under side with fibrefill.

    not sure what your saying ?
    i was looking for a measurement from the edge of the filler recess along the top of the wing to where the first door moulding angle starts ?

    I don't have the measurement you are after.
    Just look in the boot and look where the back of the inner wheel arch meets the inside of the body.
    Measure about 1/2-3/4" back from there. Drill a small hole up through the body as a marker for the front of your recess

    what do use to cut the hole out dremel dril ?

    I use a die grinder with a carbide bit, but a Dremel should do the job.

    Recess now in place

    fuel filler recess now fitted with fiberfill and then fiber glassed in from underneath
    all looking good

    my question is how do i repair and then polish the gel coat
    i have never worked with gel coat or polished gel so i have no idea how to do it
    i also have no intension in getting the body sprayed
