    LS3 Plumbing

Does anyone have a schematic of how to plumb up an LS3 engine in an AK? Or photos or ANYTHING !!?

    Thanks Gav.

I found that today too with Google.

Looking at the bits I have, I think.....

The header tank connects to the top radiator hose and the water pump feed on the engine.
The small pipe on the back of the header connects to the vent pipe on the passenger side head.
The small pipe on the front of the header connects to the vent pipe on the top of the rad.
The two pipes near the thermostat are the flow and return for the heater.
The bottom rad outlet needs to connect to the thermostat housing.

    Can anyone confirm?

    Hi,

I don't have the ak header but what you have sounds correct,

One thing ref, the heater connection the 19mm (3/4) is the return from the heater the 16mm (5/ is the feed to heater.
Not sure if any one has experience when using the vw heater with a valve if it should have flow all the time and not just when the heater is on hot.

I have connected my header to the heater return I.e the header feeds the water pump when the heater valve is closed and the steam pipe from the heads and the rad make the circuit.

Thanks for the offer Charlie, I'm very tempted, but I think the four hour round trip will prohibit the journey.

If for no other reason than it is four hours away from the garage.

AK have confirmed my water circuit is correct so I'm ok at the moment.

Craig, did you get the LS3 hose kit from AK or did you source the bits individually?

All from AK, mines all plumbed up now waiting for heater, also need some more hose to connect 1 rocker breather and the idle control motor.

Have you got any photos of your completed plumbing? I'm just tackling mine at the moment and am almost there. I'm just stuck at the three connections on the stainless air filter extension. Am I right in thinking two for the rocker breathers (as you have suggested and shown in photos above) and then third for the idle motor?
