    Yes, try the convoy route, you might get quite a collection. A convoy means you don't have to leave anyone on guard duty during the service (owners do that while in the nearest pub waiting for the return trip). Return journey to the reception does mean you have to travel in the posh tin top with the bride, making room for someone else in the convoy.

    It will give your local cobra chums a chance of a day out, a swift pint during the service and perhaps a bar meal on the outskirts of the reception. You might get some good photo opportunities too.

    I've done three, but only as convoy driver, not in the posh suit.

    Not wanting to make this more complicated for you, but I believe you need special insurance to rent it out as a wedding car. I know its specifically excluded in my policy.

    +1 for the convoy, you never know the owner might be overcome with generosity and swap seats just around the corner from the church...
