    Idle control valve noise

    Hi anyone running an LS3 have any issues with noisy idle air control valve?

    Hi mate. Yeah it's not uncommon for a slight howling/sucking noise. Usually through the air filter/intake pipe though. Doesn't do it all the time but usually at idle.

    Think you have a non standard AK set up with the filter ducted to the front wing area though which I liked the look of when I saw it at Patricks.

    What noises are you getting.

    Hi Anthony, describing noises is not always easy, but if I were to tell you it has been named Chubaca... I think you can have a fair guess....

    It's good to know that it's not just mine suffering from a noise, I'm going to investigate using stepper motor 4wire type, if I have any success I will let you know.

    Well after a little more work than antisipated new stepper motor idle control valve fitted, very happy with the results much more stable idle and no noise... Had to fit an extra adaptor for the Omex Ecu and I machined up my own housing to fit the stepper motor.
