Correct, they are 7/16" UNF ''High Tensile''. You need to see 8.8 stamped on top of bolt head. Some bolts have a triangle which I believe is also HT but not 100% positive. On my AK, I had to pack out with a metal shim 6mm from the threaded hole as the fibreglass skin was not tight up to the chassis. I used 40mm long but you do not need that length. You can always shorten the bolt if necessary

Thanks Charlie, does your bracket spin on the bolt or is it tight up against the carpet? Did you use bolts or full thread set screw? Thanks Lee

Thought the designation "8.8" was only for metric bolts not imperial? Imperial bolts have a series of lines on the bolt head, from memory you need three lines but check with Google to be sure.

Yep, Tony is correct. The imperial bolt have the three lines as a marking for "high tensile"

    8.8 is metric.

I spaced mine slightly also, as i wanted the bracket to have some rotation to help with adjustment.

    Haha no.

My seats are fitted mate, so access for the photo is near impossible.

However link below should work. I would advise some nice detaild pictures for IVA, as when the seat is in its hard to see the bolt head. So a good photo should satisfy your IVA tester... It did for me. Grade 5 bolts minimum

    high tensile imperial bolts

I needed to buy a tap to clean the holes out too. They were also full of swarf, which called for a magnet to clean them out.

No, I'm not "repairing" it, I'm fine tuning its performance.
