Here's another site that might help you plan ahead.

What time of the year are you planning your trip, and what will you be driving? Do you have any ideas where you will be staying, Edinburgh, Glasgow etc? What are your interests, Castles, Historic Buildings, Distilleries etc?

    Hi Clive,
We are looking at mid to end of May, we have friends at/near Galashelis so we would be starting the Scottish adventure from there.
no ideas on where to stay yet, like nice character places if possible, castles sound good... not to fussed about going to Edinburgh or Glasgow as a destination, have been to them before and easy to fly into for a weekend, not so keen on the distilleries, but would like to visit some fish smoking houses, and love sea food.
The car is an AK, built with touring in mind (I did the cruse control article in snake torque), does have full wet weather gear and dare I say it fairly leek free, after a few trips across central France in huge French down pours some improvement was needed.

    Neil,
    Build Started 24/02/13 IVA'd 16/10/2014 registration completed 26/11/2014. First drive 27/11/2014

If you go there in the midge season, you can do us all a favour and smash a few million of the wee beasties into that windscreen.

I was bought a book for Christmas "Scotland The Best" by Peter Irvine 12th edition 2016 lots of good information where to eat places to visit.....etc etc only just getting into it but seems good information.

I intend to tour Scotland this year on the bike with my Brother and Cousin, then later in the year in the Cobra with my better half
