Don't forget there is more than one way to define cheapest.

Cost to build only or resale value less cost to build which is technically the truer cost. (Everyone sells at some point).

The cheapest kit is not always the cheapest built.
Lot of informations and skills are needed to get the car ready. Especially if its the first one like mine.
I decided to go with dax even when they are not the cheapest. I thought that the kit is complete and everything is really IVA compatible. I thought I would get a good support.
    The trooth was different.
Now the car is ready – it took me more than 4 years. Today I had my positive IVA retest.

    To answer your question :
The price of the cheapest cobra built is not only determined by the parts of the kit. If you whant to make shure not loosing any money – find a company with people you can trust.

I guess MK1 Polo heaters and E34 non-airbag steering columns will run out before Jags

No, I'm not "repairing" it, I'm fine tuning its performance.

Lots of heaters will do plus I used a corsa column with epas so bmw isn't necessarily important.

That change has passed me by, do you need to make a lot of mod to fit that?

I had to make a bracket to convert the epas mounts to the ak ones, and convert the lower knuckle, again to fit the ak shaft. Worked very well though
