East Anglian Newsletter and meet info - June 2017

    Here's June's newsletter -;attach=233

    Hi to you all,
Did you enjoy your trip by the river side for May’s meet at The Ferry House, Surlingham? We haven’t received an update, but Paul Jarrett has posted some pictures online (which we have liberated for reproduction here.
From the look of the pictures, the weather was very accommodating and the food sounded pretty good as well.
We weren’t able to attend as we were around the other side of the globe in Osaka at the same time. Needs must!

Since we came back home, things have been pretty hectic, and now the 24 Hours of Le Mans is just around the corner. So, Steve has given the grand old Dax a wipe with the duster and is all set to blast south to La Sarthe for a few days of serious motor racing, and light-hearted alcohol consumption (or should that be the other way around?).

No doubt Steve and Andy Soar will be sad at missing this month’s meet on Sunday 18th June @ 12:00. This is also Father’s Day, so the fathers amongst us expect to be spoilt rotten by their offspring.
The rest of us will be at The Henny Swan, as recommended by Paul Jarrett. The Henny Swan, Henny Rd, Great Henny, Sudbury CO10 7LS and 01787 267 953.
Continuing a summer riverside theme, The Henny Swan is right on the River Stour, 2 miles south of Sudbury. Dogs are welcome in the bar and lounge area. For visitors with mobility issues, there is flat access to the front door and the bar and a fully accessible toilet. There is one small step between the bar and restaurant.
Don’t forget to phone and book if you intend to eat.
Steve will be in France in the Dax, so Eileen will be in Henny in the Monaro.

We’ll continue to populate the ‘3rd Sunday’ calendar with interesting pubs to visit in our usual ‘On Tour’ format.
If you have a recommendation or favourite venue, please let us know.
July 2017 - East Suffolk – either Suffolk Food Hall, or Jimmy’s Farm, as recommended by Joy Soar.
    August 2017 - West Norfolk
    September 2017 - East Norfolk
    October 2017 - West Suffolk

We’re always on the lookout for pub recommendations and event info for 2017 – if you have a recommendation or favourite venue, please let us know. We have received some for East Suffolk, still on the lookout for other areas.

We were going to come, but as of Thursday morning they are all booked up until 5pm for Sunday 18th. Yes, we should have booked earlier, but the brake calipers are only just re-attached to the car!
Hope you have a good time, the pub looks really nice.
See you next month with any luck, my daughter would prefer Jimmy's farm
    Thanks, Richard
