Big tidy up in the garage today as well as inside the car.

Then it was time to turn the car around so I can attack the rest of the bodywork.

You should be very proud of what you've achieved so far; many wouldn't have the vision and staying power to have overcome the challenges you have (or the skill to do such a good job of it).

I have been pottering around with the drivers door for the last day or so, following the same process as I did on the passenger door.

Firstly was the hinge fixing/tube upgrade and respray of the hinge and then I fitted this back on the car.

Then I spent some time sanding/filling/prepping the door including a couple of coats of etch primer.

Next was to put the door into the aperture and check the fit. Its miles better than the passenger door was.

There is some work to be done to improve the fit, but I am happy that it is minimal compared to the passenger door!!

Lastly I sorted out the drivers door latch bracket and got it all mounted nicely

I decided to have a break from sanding/filling/doors today.

I made a simple jig up to allow me to cut out the circular holes for the headlight bowls

With the holes cut out, I then offered up my cardboard template to mark and drill two clearance holes at 9 and 12 o'clock

Then I drilled the holes

Both sides done ready to receive the bowls

Today I have been improving the fit of the drivers door.

So the filler was out again.

And all sanded back ready for some primer.
