    Loom Questions

Hi folks, fitting the loom now and have a couple of questions:

    1. Has anyone (is it recommended to) fit something over the split conduit to make it fully waterproof when run in the wheel arches?
    2. Any recommendations for grommets or similar (rubber tubing?) to protect the conduit where it passes from the engine bay into the wheel arches?

    Many thanks, Mike

Not an AK, but on my dax I ran the front loom under the o/s bonnet lip using p-clips and s/s dome headed machine screws. Also, check out Project Tango in the GD section. Chap called Steve ran loom through conduit in the wheel arches there - there’s photos too. ECS has some deep grommets that were perfect for the scuttle hoop firewall. HTH

Corrugated black flexible conduit similar to this on my AK, I used for the main battery cable run in the rear wheel arch.

Heat shrink tube is an essential bit of kit for all wiring - comes in all sizes and colours and makes a professional finish.
