    Fitting the engine

I'm planning to put my engine in shortly, it's a rv8 into a sumo, might seem a basic question but should I do it with the lt77 gearbox attached or join them afterwards?

I fitted mine together, drop them in with the gearbox lower than the engine.

Drop the gearbox into a trolley jack and it roll up the transmission tunnel.

Top the gearbox oil up first, it’s a bugger to get at once it’s in.

Yep both together. Jacking up the front end a bit makes it easier too.

Thanks chaps, that's what I thought but you never know what problems others have come up against so I thought I'd ask

    Cheers

Sorry to disagree with Alex, but jacking up the rear helps, not the front !

Also try and beg steal or borrow a load leveller which will allow you to tilt the gearbox down to start then bring it up as you lower the engine down to the mounts.
