Valve Cover Clearance - two gaskets....?

Hi All,

Quick question - after fitting new rocker covers on SBF (351W) one of the rockers is tapping on the baffle (only on one side), so despite only having stock rockers seems there is not quite enough clearance. Covers are not torqued down excessively but backing off on a couple of the bolts takes away the clash. I have a new Mahle Rubber gasket in there.

Having googled seems a few people stateside have used two gaskets - seeing as I think I only need a few mm more clearance seems cheaper and quicker than a valve cover spacer (which can only find available from the States.)

Before I try it - has anyone on here used two gaskets?

I had this issue when I fitted mine about 10 years ago, I just reduced the height of the mounting pillars and dented the baffle slightly. Only air is supposed to get past the baffle so reducing the gap as long as air can still flow is fine. IMHO.

Like I said been like this for over 10 years and 35,000 odd miles.
